• Why is music so important?

Music is present in all cultures worldwide with its powerful, transformative, and unifying effect on people. This is because listening to, and playing music, produces changes in the brain.

Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, memory, language, and problem-solving skills.

Having fun with music and singing helps children improve their coordination skills and develop a sense of timing. They can benefit numerous physical and mental health benefits, including stress reduction, and improved mood.

Last but not least... singing, music, and movement are perfect for a creativity explosion!

  • Our mission

Jazz is freedom, identity, and above all, the ability to listen to yourself and to others without judgment.

With its unique spirit, jazz reminds us that every voice matters and that diversity is something to be embraced and celebrated.

The mission of JazzyBees is to bring the essence of jazz into music education through improvisation, collaboration, singing, and self-expression. In this way, children are encouraged to develop empathy, creativity, confidence, and respect, while discovering their own voice in a shared musical space.

Ultimately, JazzyBees aims to inspire the next generation to grow with open minds, open ears, and open hearts.

  • How does a class works?

It is primarily a small group class where we focus on the voice as our most valuable and personal instrument. Through it, we explore different musical genres and styles, with a special emphasis on learning the jazz language.

Students are introduced to the foundations of musical thinking as improvisers: in other words, becoming “composers in the moment.”We also work with a variety of instruments (bells, xylophones, boomwhackers, mallets, rhythm sticks, etc.) as well as different materials (chiffon scarves, balloons, parachutes, and more), depending on the learning goals of each class.

JazzyBees in Primary Schools

JazzyBees lessons are designed to help children discover music in a fun, active, and creative way.

Our lessons follow the educational guidelines of SLO (click here to learn more), but with an extra JazzyBees twist: playful, creative, and full of music!

Group 1-2

Group 3-4

Group 5-6

Group 7-8

JazzyBees in Primary Schools introduces children to many different kinds of music. Alongside jazz, they explore a variety of musical styles, genres, and languages, giving them a rich, diverse, and well-rounded musical learning experience.

Although we don't focus only on jazz songs, every lesson includes a special JazzyBees element. We believe that children learn best by doing. That is why every lesson encourages children to make music, move, work together, and use their imagination. This way, they learn through fun experiences while meeting the learning goals for primary education.

We can also create a programme based on your school's chosen theme. Every programme is designed in the spirit of JazzyBees and follows the SLO educational guidelines.

Is there a JazzyBees for adults? Yes!

  • If you love the JazzyBees spirit of creativity, playfulness, and freedom of expression, you'll be happy to know there's a version just for grown-ups too!

Those same values come to life in JazzyBees SingingDo Classes, a joyful space to sing, create, explore, and reconnect with your musical self.

No pressure. No judgment. Just music, creativity, and guaranteed fun!

To develop real intonation and the ability to master a song, we should get into the music deeply, so that we can discover our musical potential.
I believe in the importance of working first on vocal technique but also on developing our auditory competencies.

  • In particular, during our 60 minutes class, we will be working on these aspects:

    • Vocal technique inspired by Italian Bel Canto and NMS ( natural mix singing)

    • Ear training with special melodic exercises.

    • Developing harmony competencies

    • Developing vocal rhythmic language

    • Studying the connection between your feelings and your performing abilities

    • Musical games!

    • Building up your repertoire!

And for the little ones? Tiny Bees!

  • Singing Stories classes are for everyone... but they are especially suited to children aged 0-4.

    Why?

Because their playful, open-ended, and exploratory approach perfectly matches the way babies, toddlers, and preschoolers learn: through curiosity, movement, imagination, and shared musical experiences.

It is well-renowned that reading stories is important for developing children's literacy skills. But adding the singing and some music and interactive musical activities to those stories can make the experience even more educational and meaningful for them (and parents too!).

In this way, the benefits will be enormous.

  • What does a Tiny Bees workshop consist of?

Children learn words and language skills from listening and engaging in stories, songs, and conversations. By sharing stories and singing with your child, you are helping them to become more familiar with words and sounds.

The melodies and the choice of sounds, colours, materials and musical activities have the intention to bring little children into the discovery of new words, and new sounds but, overall, into discovering the world of emotions that are hidden inside the story.

The voice is used by a professional as a way to communicate more authentically with children and the background sounds support this intention.

  • The books

The books may be in English, Dutch or Italian. Upon request, workshops can also be offered in Spanish or French.

For group classes, the books are selected by the teacher. For private workshops and private parties, TinyBees will be happy to create a musical story based on a book of your choice.
